Abstract:

Tan Kah Kee is one of the renowned overseas Chinese leaders in our country. His personal contribution: as well as those he led and organized, are significantly notable in charity, characterized by a focus on education, social disaster relief, and stimulating group donations through personal contributions. These efforts are based on his strong economic capabilities and are the result of a combination of demographic characteristics such as family environment, external environmental factors, and internal psychological drivers. Tan Kah Kee’s philanthropic donations have made substantial contributions, not only advancing educational development in China and among Chinese communities in Southeast Asia but also supporting China’s war efforts and national construction. Furthermore, his efforts have strengthened the cohesion among overseas Chinese. Tan Kah Kee’s spirit of charity provides significant lessons and insights for our country’s work concerning overseas Chinese affairs and social charity initiatives.
