Abstract:
In the new era, the manufacturing industry is accelerating its transformation and upgrading on the production side, and service input plays an important role in it. Based on the micro-enterprise data of China’s manufacturing industry from 2000 to 2014, this paper examines the impact of manufacturing input servitization on the total factor productivity of enterprises under the framework of micro-enterprise production analysis. The results show that there is a significant U-shaped relationship between manufacturing input servitization and total factor productivity of enterprises, and the possible impact channels are cost effect and technological innovation effect, Moreover, the degree of global value chains participation can strengthen the impact of manufacturing input servitization. In addition, the impact shows heterogeneity after considering the technological level, region, ownership type, service input source and type of enterprises. The research conclusions of this paper have important policy implications for China’s promotion of service-oriented manufacturing and the implementation of dual-circulation strategy.
