Abstract:
Based on the data of China Family Panel Studies (CFPS),this paper examines the impact of grass-roots fiscal expenditure and rural structural transformation on the common prosperity of rural households. The research indicates that grass-roots fiscal expenditure significantly promotes the common prosperity among rural households. Grass-roots fiscal expenditure has facilitated rural structural transformation, mainly characterized by the improvement of agricultural productivity, the development of high-value agriculture, and the non-agricultural employment of rural labor force, which in turn contributes to the common prosperity of rural households. In terms of allocation structure, investment in grassroots public services, agricultural and water conservancy production, and education have a significant impact on the common prosperity of rural households. From the perspective of relative benefits, rural households with low levels of common prosperity, house-holds mainly engaged in non-agricultural production, and households with low education levels are relatively more beneficiaries of grassroots fiscal expenditures.
